	What is PAN UK’s vision for UK agriculture?

	A 50% reduction in pesticide use over the next 10 years A 50% reduction in adverse environmental impacts over 5 years We believe this can be achieved – but not without a Pesticide Use Reduction strategy – for which PAN has campaigned for many years

The greatest use of pesticides in the UK is in agriculture. Over 31,000 tonnes of pesticide active ingredient were applied to agricultural land in 2004 and our dependence on chemicals is increasing, despite rising sales of organic produce.

Pesticides are regulated in the UK, so why is such a high level of pesticide use is a problem?
