December 3rd marks global No Pesticide Use Day, dedicated to the memory of the 1984 Bhopal chemical disaster in India which killed thousands and injured hundred of thousands of people. Pesticide Action Network International (PAN International) is calling on governments and corporations around the world to ban Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs) and replace them with ecosystem-based alternatives.
In this video, from PAN UK, Latin American Coffee farmers talk candidly about the health and environmental problems they have experienced from HHPs. But positively, they also explain the techniques they have adopted to control pests without chemical pesticides. It's an inspiring story and one that gives hope for a future without HHPs
