Pesticide poisoning incidents

The Health and Safety Executive has at last produced a short leaflet advising how and where to report incidents of pesticide poisoning. The table of who to report to is reproduced below.  The Pesticides Trust [now PAN UK] has produced an incident report form and guide, indicating information and details which are useful to record.

1 Employers and the self-employed are legally required to report certain work-related incidents. Advice is available from your Local Authority or HSE Area Office.
2. Only when people are employed to carry out the work;  other incidents involving pesticides in domestic premises should go to the Local Authority.
3. In Scotland, the appropriate local River Purification Board or Islands Council.
4. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Scottish Office Agriculture and Fisheries Department or the Welsh Office Agriculture Department as appropriate.
