'The Eye of the Needle' is the story behind Gossypium, a UK-based ethical clothing company, and is written by founder Abigail Petit. Originally written as the basis of an award-winning children's drama workshop, the book is a great introduction to the complexities of both the textiles industry and cotton farming. It is written from the point of view of an insider and is semi-autobiographical. Although written for children the issues come alive for adults as well.

The story serves is an informed and complete expose of how far from sustainable our global clothing production and consumption is today - and the fact that it is rapidly getting worse.
