New handbook of pesticides
Sittig’s Handbook of Pesticides and Agricultural Chemicals provides details of chemicals used in food production, including pesticides, fertilizers, and products used in animal husbandry. It differs from other chemical references in that although it covers less chemicals in number, it covers them in much greater detail. It focuses on chemicals most used in agriculture and does not cover those that are used infrequently. Although some of the chemicals included are repeated from the fourth edition of Sittig’s Handbook of Toxic and Hazardous Chemicals and Carcinogens, this new book provides more detailed information. Nearly 800 chemicals are profiled with 30 fields of information provided on each including details of toxicity, carcinogenicity, endocrine disrupting potential, permissible concentrations, short and long-term exposure symptoms, first aid, detection methods, and uses. This reference book is intended for all those needing to understand the hazards of these chemicals, including manufacturers, formulators, food processors, pesticides applicators, food safety scientists and toxicologists.
