Phasing out Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs)

We work with governments, food and fibre sector companies and standards and our partner NGOs to encourage them to:

  1. identify which HHPs are in use in their countries or crops and which practices pose high risk
  2. phase out use of specific HHPs and replace these with safer alternatives

Exploring safer alternatives to HHPs and raising awareness about their technical and economic feasibility is an essential component of PAN UK work.

We promote organic farming methods and ecologically based methods for Integrated Pest Management (IPM), with a more recent focus on agroecological practices.
